The chimney is one of the most useful structures of a dwelling. The fact that chimneys often do their job effectively, even when neglected, contributes to this theory that ‘it’s probably fine’. A chimney deteriorated by constant exposure to the weather can be a potential safety hazard. Regular chimney maintenance is foundational to prevent issues, deterioration and future preventible, high-cost chimney solutions.
Shodily lined chimneys might cause a number of expensive structural & cosmetic complications for the client & also create potentially important safety hazards.
Masonry components deteriorate quickly when exposed to the extreme freeze/thaw processes of Bellmore, in which moisture that has penetrated the materials periodically freezes & expands causing undue stress.
A stone chimney acts and looks like a brick chimney & it often will also be protected from the effects of water penetration.
Chimney caps, also called rain covers, are probably the most inexpensive preventive measure that a client easily employ to prevent water penetration and issues to the chimney.
Installing chimney caps & dampers often protect your chimney & maintain a safe chimney damper.
Our specialists can advise a homeowner in your own unique situation what is best for you.

One of the least expensive parts of the chimney venting system is the one that sometimes prevent some of the most immoderate trouble. If you don’t have a chimney cap on your chimney, stop reading and call our chimney pros for an estimate now! Every chimney expert knows that a safe chimney cap is a must.
Most chimney caps are made from copper or stainless steel
In especially windy areas chimneys also may prevent downdrafts by blocking crosswinds from entering the chimney.
Chimney dampers may help prevent water penetrations, heat loss & keep you warm and saving you money.
This damper attaches to the top of the chimney’s flue tile liner, providing a tight, gasketed fit that seals in heat & seals out weather, insects, birds and animals.
These blockages might cause fire hazards and smoke back drafting into the structure.
Rain is moisture & moisture is an enemy of a healthy fireplace and flue. Chimney liner tiles & mortar will crumble and crack, leading to serious damage. The chimney cap cover deflects rain and the side mesh prevents pests & leaves from entering. Still, proper chimney cleaning and maintenance are always recommended.
We can come out and recommend the best option for you and provide a written estimate to install a new chimney cap, damper, or guard.
Water causes more leaks than any other element. It soaks into porous bricks and weathers the mortar. It’s a common issue: raccoons, squirrels, birds & bats try to make their home in your chimney.
Chimneys may block proper ventilation & even allow pests to enter your home, potentially spreading disease and causing havoc. Our strong mesh & lids can keep even the most determined animals out!
Your fireplace can send sparks onto the roof or nearby flammable materials. Stray sparks can be stopped by the mesh cover that is a component of all our chimney caps.
The method recommended for your chimney may depend on the type of deposits. The Thermocrete process coats the inside of the chimney with a durable ceramic sealant. Thermocrete has UL Listing and is approved for gas & oil.
A composite chimney lining system is inflated into the flue, then hardened with steam pressure, forming a tough liner. A stainless steel chimney liner is air- & water-tight.
This alloy resists acids from gas appliances & extreme temperature cycles.
Chimney liners serve three main functions. NBS tests showed that unlined chimneys let heat move so quickly that adjacent woodwork caught fire within 3½ hours.
Flue gases are acidic and eat away at mortar joints from the inside. Liners also provide a correctly-sized flue for efficient appliance performance.
Modern stoves and furnaces need a properly-sized flue to operate efficiently. An incorrectly-sized liner may cause creosote buildup in wood stoves and increase carbon monoxide risks.
Our mission is to provide recommendations that could improve the safety and efficiency of your appliance & venting system.
Chimneys should be cleaned when soot & creosote accumulations approach or exceed 1/4 inch. Glaze build-up over 1/8 inch should be removed. We employ several cleaning techniques to remove chimney deposits. Frequent (at least annual) chimney estimates are the only way to know when the chimney is in need of maintenance.
Several of the usual chimney cleaning techniques we provide include:
Standard Sweep. This is the standard cleaning method & uses brushes to clean the flue. A powerful, well-filtered vacuum prevents soot and creosote from entering the property. This cleaning is effective for soot & light creosote deposits but has little effect on glaze build-up.
Mechanical Sweeping. Mechanical cleaning uses wire brushes, plastic cables, or special chains rotated at high speed by an electric motor. It is often employed to remove hard creosote or glaze deposits. In rare cases where it’s impossible to sweep the flue by standard or mechanical methods, chemicals may be used to loosen & dissolve heavy deposits.
A thorough chimney sweep may remove soot, creosote & blockages from the flue liner, smoke chamber & shelf, firebox & damper. Heat, moisture, creosote and gases may be removed, repaired, or relined with a UL-listed liner system or other approved material that will resist corrosion, softening, or cracking from flue gases at temperatures correct for the class of the chimney job.
Chemical Cleaning: This requires two trips — sometimes three if necessary. Our chimney masons will usually complete the job in a couple of hours and ensure your home stays clean and undisturbed. Our technicians pride ourselves on “no mess,” top-notch service with minimal interruption to the owner.
